A blast to put together this block...

And now, a tree! (and more houses)

I knew this would be a fun month! I went pretty basic with my first house ... I love this basic shape and, of course, the fabrics and color combo is almost magical.

But of course, these blocks are like Lay's potato chips: you can't just stop at one. So I made another, and this time decided on a pair of skinny next-door neighbors with tall pointy roofs. I hope this adds something a little different to Kerri's village:

Finally, I had some scraps left over and decided to make Kerri a tree for her village, with Little Red Riding Hood strolling underneath:



Don't worry, Nettie ... if you want us to make you a village for your month, I'd be more than happy to make some more of these little houses!

Another block for Kerri.

This is going to be a great quilt!  I love the choice of fabrics, red and aqua are definitely a favorite color combination, and I have enjoyed playing with them.

I can't wait to see how this quilt comes together!

Gnome Home For Sale - Move In Ready

This is my block for Kerri. I had this block all planned out on paper. I was going to make a house with a whimsical crooked chimney. It get's cold outside during the winter months! All Gnome homes need a good working fireplace.

After I put the chimney on, my wife commented that it looked like a watering can spout. So I went with it! I'm still giggling over making this block Kerri! It was so much fun. I may need to start my own village soon!

i agree with nettie. these blocks are so cute and addicting. my red/aqua little house quilt left me as the prize for the joy challenge. i think i need a replacement.
